Rabbi Yaacov Gross

Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Yaacov Gross, is a musmach of Bais Medrash Govoha and a talmid of HaGaon HaRav Elya Svei, ZT”L. Rabbi Gross came to Miami from the Boston Community Kollel where he taught and studied since its inception. The Rosh HaKollel gives many classes at the Kollel including the daily Daf Yomi, nightly Shulchan Aruch shiur, the Mid- Beach executive lunch class, Tuesday morning women’s Tefillah class and Shabbos morning Mishna Brurah class. Aside from his abundant duties at the Kollel, Rabbi Gross is involved with many other community organizations and private causes.


Mrs. Sara Hindy Gross is a principal at Bais Yaakov and delivers shiurim for women.

Rabbi Berish Braun

Rabbi Braun is a Talmid of the Telshe Yeshiva in Riverdale, the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and Bais Medrash Govoha of Lakewood. Rabbi Braun was one of the founding members of our Kollel and later assumed the duties of Rosh Kollel. He applies his considerable talents to the administrative work and learning programs of the Kollel. He also delivers the Michtov Meliyahu shiur and the Shabbos morning Sfas Emes shiur.

Mrs. Naomi Braun teaches preschool at Yeshiva Elementary School and runs a girls’ summer day camp. She is very active with many of the Kollel’s women’s programs.

Rabbi Yekusiel Stern

Rabbi Yekusiel Stern studied at Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago, Yeshiva Gedola of Passaic under the leadership of Rav Meir Stern and subsequently at Rav Tzvi Kaplan’s Yeshivas Kodshim in Yerushalayim. Rav Stern is the Kollel’s Director of Development and studies with many Baale Battim throughout the day and gives the weekly Parsha shiur on Wednesday mornings. Rabbi Stern is also the menahel of the Beis Din of South Florida under the leadership of Horav Mendel Senderovic Shlita.

Mrs. Chana Rochel Stern teaches in Bais Yaakov High school.

Rabbi Shmuel Stein

Rabbi Shmuel Stein, originally from Brooklyn, is a talmid of Mesivta and Yeshiva Torah Temimah, Yeshivas Yagdil Torah in Eretz Yisroel and Bais Medrash Govoha. Rabbi Stein teaches the popular Wednesday evening In Hilchos Shabbos Shiur and writes a review sheet which is disseminated each week before Shabbos. He organizes the Kollel’s youth programs inclding Masmidei Erev and Miami Masmidim program. Rabbi Stein is the new resource director at Yeshiva Elementary school and teaches at Mechina of South Florida.

Mrs. Rikki Stein runs the successful girls’ division of Ohr Fellowship in Miami Beach and assists with the Motzai Shabbos girls Ateret & Younique program.

Rabbi Reuven Brown

Rabbi Reuven Brown is originally from Toronto, where he studied in Ner Yisroel before learning in Eretz Yisroel under Rav Zvi Kushelevsky and in Rabbi Leff’s yeshiva in Monsey. He subsequently joined the Kollel at Yeshivas Ohr Reuven where he received his smicha. Rabbi Brown is the Shabbos Baal Koreh at the Carriage Club North minyan.

Mrs. Rivky Brown is currently doing her dermatology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Rabbi Avrohom Y. Elefant

Rabbi Avrahom Y. Elefant, originally from Scranton, is a talmid of Rav Shimon Alster at Yeshiva Gedolah of Cliffwood. Rabbi Elefant moved to Miami to join the Kollel in 2016.

Mrs. Hadassa Elefant teaches preschool at Yeshiva Elementary school and runs the Kollel’s Ateret program for girls on Motzai Shabbos at Shaare Ezra.

Rabbi Shlomo Hoberman

Rabbi Shlomo Hoberman hails from Philadelphia , where his father is a Rebbi in the Yeshiva Gedolah. Rabbi Hoberman spent seven years learning in Mesivta and Yeshiva of Long Beach before going to Eretz Yisroel where he learned under Rav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik. He then studied in Lakewood Yeshiva before coming to Miami Beach.

Mrs. Perel Hoberman nee Teichman works as a property accountant.

Rabbi Menachem Horowitz

Rabbi Menachem Horowitz, originally from Passaic, New Jersey, is a talmid of Mesivta of Passaic, Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic and Rav Meir Soloveichik. Rabbi Horowitz learned in Bais Medrash Govoha for four years before joining the Kollel in 2013. Rabbi Horowitz gives an Iyun Parsha Shiur on Thursday evenings. He also gives the Mishnayos class at the Kollel’s after school enrichment program. He is also the 11th grade Shoel Umeishiv and Chumash and Halacha Rebbi at Mechina of South Florida.

Mrs. Bracha Horowitz works as a speech therapist in Yeshiva Elementary School.

Rabbi Tzvi Jacob

Rabbi Tzvi Jacob, originally from Los Angeles, is a talmid of Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim, Yeshivas Bais Yisroel and Yeshivas Mir in Yerushalayim. Rabbi Jacob is the assistant administrator of Beis Din of South Florida and runs the very successful Ohr Fellowship Kiruv program; with programs for boys and girls in Boca Raton, North Miami Beach, Washington DC, as well as the flagship program in our Kollel. Rabbi Jacob gives classes for High-school students throughout the week and encourages them to enroll in Yeshivos.

Mrs. Rivka Jacob is the Kollel’s secretary.

Rabbi Shlomo Kravetz

Rabbi Shlomo Kravetz, originally from Lakewood, is a talmid of Mesivta of Passaic, Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic and Rav Meir Soloveichik in Eretz Yisroel. Rabbi Kravetz was studying in Beth Medrash Govoha before joining the Kollel in 2013. He gives our Shabbos afternoon Gemarah Shiur.

Mrs. Rivka Kravetz works as an administrative assistant.

Rabbi Yossi Manne

Rabbi Yossi Manne, originally from Brooklyn is a talmid of Yeshiva of Far Rockaway, Yeshiva Mercaz Hatorah and Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim. He adds tremendous energy and vibrancy to the Kollel’s sedorim and to the learning in Kollel Boker. Rabbi Manne delivers the Gemara Sukkah Shiur at the Agra Dipirka Program.

Mrs. Sara Manne is a teacher at Bais Yaakov Miami.

Rabbi Eli Riesel

Rabbi Eli Riesel, originally from North Miami Beach, is a talmid of Yeshiva Toras Chaim. Rabbi Riesel learns with many chavrusos each day. He is organizing Shiurim and  other programs and is a sought-after Shliach Tzibur and Baal Koreh.

Mrs. Nechama Riesel is active in arranging women’s shiurim. She is a teacher in Toras Emes Elementary school.

Rabbi Yehuda Rosenberg

Rabbi Yehuda Rosenberg learned in Mesivta Bais Shraga in Monsey and in Yeshiva of Cliffwood, under Rav Shimon Alster. He learned in Eretz Yisroel under Rav Meir Sender before coming to Lakewood, where he learned in Bais Medrash Gavoha.

Mrs Devorah Rosenberg nee Josephs hails from Lakewood, New Jersey. She teaches 7th grade and is the academic counselor for the high school girls in Bais Yaakov Miami.

Rabbi Simcha Schwartz

Rabbi Simcha Schwartz is originally from Lakewood, New Jersey where his father is a Posek for the Yeshiva. Rabbi Schwartz is a talmid of Mesivta of Long Beach and Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic, under Rav Meir Stern. He learned in Mir Yerushalayim and is a close talmid of Rav Asher Arieli. Rabbi Schwartz was a madrich at Sinai Retreats “Moodus”, where he influenced many young men in their growth in Yidishkeit.

Mrs. Suri Schwartz nee Goldstein is originally from Brooklyn, New York.

Rabbi Zvi Silver

Rabbi Zvi Silver, originally from Lakewood is a talmid of Yeshiva Toras Chaim in Lakewood, Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic, Rav Meir Soloveichik and Beth Medrash Govoha. Rabbi Silver is the Kollel’s Shabbos Gabbai. He delivers the Shabbos afternoon Daf Yomi and speaks at Seudas Shlishis at Congregation Yechezkal Shraga at Carriage Club North.

Mrs. Devora Silver works as a bookkeeper.

Rabbi Yossi Stern

Rabbi Yossi Stern is originally from Brooklyn, were he was a talmid in Yeshivas Toras Emes Kaminetz. He leaned in Eretz Yisroel under Rav Dovid Soloveitchik shlita. Upon returning to America he continued his learning in Lakewood’s BMG before joining the Marlboro Kollel. Rabbi Stern received

smicha from Rav Reuvein Feinstein and Rav Moshe Heineman.

Mrs. Hadas Stern nee Shulman is originally from Brooklyn, where her father is the Rav of Young Israel of Midwood.
